thanks dave must be the same person.
I remember he was thin, tall, dark haired and from scotland.
I didn't realise his christian name was spelt Ean. did he have a big family in fremantle?
I guess he left BI after  2 spells. he would be about 75/76?

Yes, Ean was an engineer, settled in Fremantle and worked for harbour and Lights (A State Government body that administered most of the outports, Broome, Derby, Albany, etc.).

He attended the Penang Reunion and we used to lift the odd beer until he moved to a hobby farm out in the Bush.

Bloody nice guy, I spent a couple of hours with him a few weeks ago and we arranged a BI Curry Lunch for him for tomorrow, sadly, he won't make it.
