John,
What are E-books for? Some of the books on my shelves have served other uses - eg, acting as a support for something - but I can't see an E-book being any good at that. I've had a go at consulting some E-books, ones I've already used in a library, and found them, without exception, utterly impenetrable and error ridden. The only text recognition system I've ever used is OCR, and many a happy hour I've spent correcting the mangled results, including its attempts at recognising deceased small insects on the page. In these books I saw no sign that anyone had ever checked the text.
Hugh.
