Colin. I once told one of my sons that there was no bad malt and then forgot about it. Not having seen him for a while, when we did meet up, I was astounded at his collection, at the very least some 50 or so bottles! His words to me were something on the lines of "what a super Dad you are to have put me on the right tack as far as drinking goes"!!

I love the Laphroigs and all of the Sky whiskies, Bowmore in fact I have lease on about 1 sq foot of Laphroig for life which enables me to have a free tot if I should ever go to visit my tennancy!!! Bit too far from here though. Ron

ha, ha – at last another partaker......................
  very fine collection, ron
I too like the old pulteney 12 best, of the ‘seaside’ whiskies.
a few, like laphroaig are hard to take.
I will have to look into the scotts – don’t recall seeing them here!
a big whisky drinking friend of mine loves the irish whiskies – I stick to scotch.
  thanks

  present collection...............................95% empty now!

  Colin

I cannot ignore the challenge any longer
I love the stuff and in my humble opinion there is no bad malt (Scottish that is). Some are just a bit better than others
  My current collection includes ;
  Jura Origin 10yr
  Glenfiddich Rich Oak 14yr
  Old Poultney 12
  Balvennie Double Wood 12
  Scotts Highland Park 1986
  Scotts Speyside 1991
amongst Irish Bushmills, Tyrconnell Malts and for ordinary or "cooking" Grants,William Peel,Clan Campbell as blends.

Having said that I like the Old Poultney as much as any.

  Ron.

recently I asked bitlisters for their preferences for usquebaugh [whisky].
so far hugh is the only one who has responded.
can it be that there are only two, amongst all the rough seafarers on the list - who surely drank bottles of it, and who
partake [from time to time – and the festive season could be one of those time] of whisky and have likes/dislikes and preferences for the water of life?
