A few days ago you asked for suggestions to start your own library.  Here are a couple of Authors that I used to enjoy :-

F.Scott Fitzgerald

Upton Sinclair

Both American, the latter was a fascinating guy.  He was the Govr. of California and tried to stand for the US Presidency, he was smeared badly, it was suggested that he would invite Tramps to the White House !  Needless to say he lost.  I particularly liked his books on the Rockerfellers and others of that Era.  

It will be interesting what other listers might suggest ?
