Sideshow: For Palin, stardom is better

It's far better to be a celebrity than to lead a great state. That's the gist of Sarah Palin's philosophy, says New York Magazine, which claims that the reason Palin ditched her job as governor of Alaska last summer comes down to one itty-bitty signifier: $. 
According to an anon insider, Palin's life as a public servant was miserable, and "she was going broke."

Since rebaptizing herself as a media babe last year, Palin has made $12 mil - including $7 mil for her memoir; $2 mil for her TLC series about Alaska; and $1 mil a year as a Fox News chatterbox. Palin also milked her role as tea party fairy godmother when she charged $100,000 to speak at the party's convention in Nashville, which angered some party-ers. 

But Palin isn't out to be Oprah. Her former campaign manager, Laura Chase, says her coyness about her political ambitions is a smoke screen: She's been gunning for the White House for years - a fact that will please her legions of fans.
