Forwarded that one to a bushie who came back and said he had done just that.
So I asked him how he got it back on the truck. Still waiting for an answer.

Simple answer though, just use the digger to build a ramp and drive it back
on. Have had to do that myself for a land well on Savu Island, a remote
island lying between Timor and Flores in Indonesia to unload and reload
barges once we had beached them.

Interesting time. may tell the story some time.

Also heard of of a similar operation being done to remove/replace a boiler
on a ship, may have been a RN gun ship, on the Shatt-al-Arab in the very
distant past. The alleged vessel was a cargo barge in Basra in the 1950's.
Said barge has very fine lines and could not take a large amount of cargo.
