further to the thread on indian made whisky

I recall there was a drink available in shanghai, many years ago, called UISKIJI - (about 33 cents a gallon) which, to the western mind, gave us the impression it was some how linked to scotch whisky, mainly because the label had a tartan background. (I recognised it as the McLee clan - [possibly the chinese characters on the label translated to - COMRADE, THIS AIN'T NO SCOTCH WHISKY - BE WARNED] - but of course we didn't know that).

suffice to say the stuff was undrinkable, didn't cure tennis elbow, was no good as a rust inhibitor and was not water soluble, didn't even unclog drains - no use could be found for it.......................................
