This is an appraisal of the film from someone who speaks good German:-

The Eder dam film footage was very good. The footage was shot by a marine officer on home leave who had been an amateur cameraman for 30 years , this was taken one hour after the attack by our brave blue jobs ! 47 people died in the immediate area , the 1st village down stream from the Eder dam had a loss of 10 civilian deaths plus livestock, with particular damage to the school and church (propaganda) . The man with the camera was the son of the camera man ,the camera and the roll of film are originals however the camera started to go a bit **** up in the 50s so he took it too his friend a Herr Shaffer who fixed it for him and noticed the film of the Eder dam , he asked his friend if he could have a copy, which he granted on condition that he doesn't show anyone the film while he was still alive . The camera and film outlasted the camera man !
