>From today's Herald (Glasgow) I offer the following from the Herald Archives feature.

150 YEARS AGO TODAY

At the Justice of Peace Court, Glasgow, two men were convicted of having deserted the employment of Messrs J & M P Bell, Glasgow Pottery.  Another, a fitter, was convicted of deserting his job at Messrs J & G Thomson, shipbuilders, Govan.  All were jailed for 30 days with hard labour.
