Do any of our BITListsrs live in or near Dundee?

ooroo

I was at a school in a building called the Ubique Club in 1955. It was run
by a husband and wife - can't remember their names - and the lady died of a
brain haemorrage (spelling!!!) It seemed like a club house with a huge hall
and we sat on long tables just like dining tables and the main thing I
remember learning there was how to draw a straight line without a ruler! I
was only 6 or 7 at the time!!

After the lady's death we then transferred to the Modern School at 84
Barrack Road, Barrackpore, run by Mrs Enid Isaac. I returned to this school
in 1961 to 1962 where they created a top class to accommodate me for a year.
We had Harinder Pal Sing, Shin Shan Liaio and Rita Dar and me Carol Paterson
in the top class, and we used to hear the Carousel Waltz on Mrs Isaac's
record player while we played in the back garden at play times!

Anyone else remember these?

The Modern School is shown in films within the Verdant Jute Works Museum in
Dundee, same little red triangular 'tie' and red sash, and white dress for
girls!! I'm so old, I'm in a museum!
Carol T.
