It is understood that it currently costs Australian ISPs five times
more to fetch a gigabyte of internet traffic from the US -- where 70
per cent of internet traffic entering to the country is currently
sourced -- than it does for ISPs in other markets. At times, it has
been much higher, with multiples up about 20 times.
