I have just been asked to sign a petition on the Bow Street web site
to Downing Street to have the HO circular on police pensions
withdrawn, they are giving forces the right to stop the injury awards
given to officers retired on ill health owing to injuries received on
duty reduced to the absolute minimum and retrospectively. If you are
interested then the web address is :- http://petitions.number10.gov.UK/HOC-46-2004/

Whilst the modern day copper is not as well respected as those of yore
it is those older coppers who will suffer from this legislation
despite their pension rights being ‘cast in stone’ when they were
brought in as an agreement to take away the right to strike.

They have done much the same with service pensions, although not
retrospectively, possibly because that would be a step too far for
even the Generals of today. They can get away with it with the police
because senior officers of today are mostly a craven bunch of cowardly
lefties.

ooroo

Bad typists of the word, untie.
