I thought it was the missing bit of the aircraft door being offered up to see if would fit, even though the rounded corner is the wrong one.
 
Marine diesels get bigger, and computer stuff gets smaller.  The only advantage of the latter I see is that, eventually, mobile/cell phones will disappear up their own @rses.  I read this morning that a laptop is being proposed/produced, small enough to fit in a lady's bag.  The lady who mentioned this thought some people have a strange concept of the size of women's bags. Some of my wife's bags would easily take a couple of normal laptops, and leave room for piles of old bus tickets, receipts, used tissues, yesterday's paper, ballpoints that don't work, purses (some with money and some without), her glasses, a compact, lipstick, gloves, etc, etc, etc, and, last but not least, her travel pass.  The latter is the cause of the preamble to every outing - "I can't find my pass."  I can write this with impunity - she's over in Ireland till Sunday.
