You will note that the ship is alongside a shed and there is also a crane, with the word Austal. The ship was in fact designed and built by Austal, an Australian company based in Perth. To win the contract and abide by American law, the company had to set up an American subsidiary and take on an American partner.

Those who visited the Austal yard in Perth during the Fremantle Reunion saw a similar, but smaller, trimaran under construction. She was being built for commercial trade, on spec. to keep the skilled workforce employed during the financial downturn. These ships are built of aluminium.
