yo john

ha-haa, the mac techie - good

please ask him for his thoughts on my hp deskjet 6540 mac driver difficulty.

the driver downloaded and installed on the mac mini ok, but it was greyed
out in the drop down list of drivers.

I found it odd that there were dozens of hp drivers in the drop down list
which could easily be selected, but my printer was not there - hence the
need to down load the driver.

I called apple and spoke to 2 apple expert, one man, one woman; they both
had the same script----- delete 6540 driver, restart mac mini, download hp
6540 driver and install, select driver..............can't, it's still greyed
out.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, suggest you call hewlett packard!

hp emailed and said they don't have apple support!

incidentally 24" imac monitor is $880 here, 24" hp monitor is $560
