yo hugh

tks for the info.

I am using the AVG security program that you are using and it is always on.

the program informs:- anti-virus active, anti-spyware active, email scanner active, link scanner active, resident shield active, update manager active. infection definitions 1,525,124.

all security features are working correctly and are up to date.

just completed a scan of my pc which took 1 hour 58 minutes - objects scanned 858,345.

result -- no infections/spyware found.

agree there is a possibility it was a reporting error. also possible that yahoo has it in for my network - msn - microsoft network.

could be prescott's trojan horse reporting to yahoo an unacceptable word in my email - or am I getting paranoid?

did anyone else receive an indication of a virus or security problem?

  Colin,

Within the past few minutes I've had a message from BT-Yahoo (my ISP) saying they had removed an attachment containing a virus from an e-mail heading for my Inbox. After a bit of farting around I managed to ascertain that the e-mail (apparently) came from yourself. Knowing how these things work, I consider the possibility that it could be wrong, but I thought I'd let you know just in case. I'll run a scan now and see if the beastie is still around - that should take an hour. I have more than adequate protection against these things.

  Regards,

  Hugh.

No virus found in this outgoing message.
