I remember when in HK and I was getting married, the Dumra was there , doing

some extensive repairs and it was during the time of severe water shortages 
in HK , but this was 1962 , I met a couple of guys from Dumra , one a 5th 
engineer an Aussie , short quiet fellow , and I think perhaps one deck 
officer the 3/0 ? , yes I recall the 24 hrs on and off etc , did I meet you 
? I was living in Kowloon and maybe the 2 sisters bar rings a bell 1

I think I am the Aussie bloke and Roger Alderman would be the 3/O.
I thought it was '63 but will see if I can get Ted Treacher to clear up some
dates as he rejoined Chyebassa just before I was transferred in Khorramshar
to go to Bombay supposedly to join the Warora on the Japan-NZ run, imagine
my delight when told sorry your going to Dumra. It all turned out OK. Nearly
12 months on a Gulf D and never west of Bombay.
Where you working ashore at the time, and maybe take us to the HK Racing
Club.
I will be off air for a while but will check with Ted and a couple of
others.
