Hi Derek,
???????????? just lost the last one just as I was signing it, here we go again. AMC's were most definitely HMS's and I'm assuming those onboard who were MN had RN ranks, the very idea of the AMC was soon abandoned because they were under armed under armoured and basically not up to the job, sadly many men died to prove this all too glaring governmental error, as far as I know the RN were never in favour. HMT appears to be a wee bit diferent, I can find examples of HMT being used, SS and HMS though the HMS peter out mid to late nineteenth century, I so far haven't been able to find out 'definition' anywhere that would catagorically state that this is the way it is! With 'she who must be obeyed' leggin it off to Aussie does it mean that its party time n Preston again?
