[BITList] Cinnamon & Honey

One thing is for sure, cinnamon and honey won't cause any diseases, which is
hardly the definition of a cure-all. Honey has long been known as a pretty
good salve for wounds - it has germicidal properties - and it is a useful
adjunct to lemon and hot water for easing the symptoms of colds and flu.
Also, honey keeps for ages, and over quite long periods it will not go bad
unless contaminated - hard, maybe, but not bad. Two tablespoons of honey,
the dose recommended (with cinnamon) for one ailment, would give anyone
heartburn or nausea. I recall my granny forcing noxious powders in a
tablespoon on me with an unconvincing, "This'll put it away," so no
tablespoons for me, unless with soup. Back in the 60s I developed a
temporary allergy to cinnamon - one taste of it and I was doubled up in
agony. It went away as mysteriously as it had come, and I was relieved the
chore of studying the small print on labels. No doubt I developed a
tolerance to it through unwittingly ingesting it in small quantities. At
the moment I can eat anything except parsnips.
