Salaams Derek,
????????????????????? good to have you here, Tom also. Ron's question has been answered by Tom, what Ron might not be aware of is that the Merchant Navy service of remembrance is a totally different event that takes place at the Merchant Navy Memorial at Tower Hill, its attended by most merchant seamen who can make it and representatives from the union and seafarers charities, I don't know if such bodies as the RNLI go but I would have thought so. To echo another of our members, he's correct, if you don't do it yourself or become actively involved then one can't complain too much but rest easy the Merchant Navy's effort will never be forgotten and we also have our own Merchant Navy Day as do the rest of the Commonwealth that count, oops a bit non PC, sorry!
?????????????????????? BR Fred
