Having no head for heights, I skipped quickly over all but the first set.  The Japanese "beach resort" just a short walk from a real beach is the ultimate in uselessness.  It reminds me of a glorious 2 weeks we spent in Bogense on the island of Fyn in Denmark in the late 80s.  The custom had developed of taking a glass of something the short walk over the grass to the path by the edge of the fiord, and there sitting on a boulder (if the seat was taken) to watch the sun sink to the horizon around 9.00. Our two grandchildren came with us, and their dad sometimes videoed the sunset.  Though the actual setting sun was clearly visible in front of them, the two kids clamoured to be allowed to "see the sun" via the camcorder.  We never could convince them that they were one and the same.  The many views of the ground in the videos are when one or other of them was "seeing the sun".
